Coral Gables, FL.-- Ms. Meyer began writing poetry when she was 15 years old. “To me, poetry is a beautifully-worded prayer. It speaks of personal observations and worldly hope, and sheds a new light on life’s challenges and discoveries,” says Lenore.

At the age of 18, Ms. Meyer moved to Miami Beach, where she opened her school called: “Miss Lenore’s School of Speech and Drama.” She co-authored a book for models and photographers called “Posing for the Camera,” which was published by Hastings House in New York and Focal Press in London, and translated for publishing in eight languages.

During World War II, she entertained troops stationed in Florida every Sunday. In 1948, she met and married public relations guru, Hank Meyer.

After raising her family, Lenore returned to her artistic talents and became an acclaimed sculptor. She incorporated her love for her husband Hank, by creating sculptures from his subconscious drawings. She is bringing those sculptures to life by donating them to meditation gardens along with her poetry, to hospitals such as Mercy, Baptist Medical Center in South Florida, and the St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, California. Five sculptures adorn the lobby of the Max Factor Foundation Lobby of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. “I believe that art and poetry in medical environments can have a therapeutic effect,” says Ms. Meyer.

New Theatre is located at 4120 Laguna St. in Coral Gables. Tickets are $50 per person, as a tax deductible contribution to New Theatre. Call the box office at 305 443-5909 for tickets.
